The story of Stutteri Just JK
A promise on the road to Billund
Told by Trine Green.
My friendship with Jens Kvist was sadly far too short. I met him in 2017 – quite naturally through his work as a vet, because when you have horses, you inevitably get to know a vet. The chemistry was good from the start. Jens was a wonderful person, professionally and personally. We shared many fun and good moments together, with and without horses.
One winter, Jens even introduced me to ballet. For several months we spent an hour every Monday driving to ballet class in Billund. Those drives became the setting for countless good conversations – about life, horses and everything in between.

One of the greatest lessons Jens gave me was that there need not be a long way from thought to action: "Just do it". Inspired by that way of thinking, I ended up buying two of his mares. On one of our many trips to Billund I promised Jens that I would carry on his fine breeding work as best I could when one day he was no longer here.
Jens passed away in August 2021 after a short illness caused by cancer.
Today, besides caring for his mares, I am still closely connected to some of the incredibly passionate people I got to know through Jens. Their help and support make it possible for me to keep his vision alive, and I am deeply grateful to have them by my side.
We all miss Jens. He was a very special vet and a dear friend. But in this way Jens lives on through Stutteri Just JK. The name says it all: Just for "Just do it", and JK for Jens Kvist. All our offspring carry JK in honour of Jens and the legacy we proudly carry forward.

Jens Kvist
Jens Kvist was more than a veterinarian and horse breeder. He was a visionary, a mentor and a friend, whose professionalism and sharp eye for quality left a lasting mark on the equestrian world.
Over the years he bred numerous top sport horses and earned recognition and respect far beyond the borders of Denmark. His work was grounded in insight, dedication and a deep love for breeding – values that continue to live on with us.

In the best hands
Jens Kvist said that a horse has five hearts – one in its chest and one in each hoof. That is why the right people around the horses matter as much as the bloodlines.

Hannoveraner Verband
It was Jens Kvist who introduced Trine to the Hanoverian horse. His long cooperation with the Verband made it a natural choice to continue – in the German association and its Danish branch.

Vojens Beslagsmedie
Since the move to Southern Jutland, farrier Kurt Westergaard has looked after the hooves. With a skilled and caring farrier, a foal can develop into an excellent riding horse.

The equine vets in Ribe handle reproduction and everything else around the horses.

Agria Animal Insurance
